Covid-19 prevention in orthodontic practice
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, your safety and the safety of other patients is our primary concern. Therefore, we ask you to follow these recommended guidelines below:
- If you have been ill in the last fourteen days; If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed coronavirus; If you have been asked to self-isolate or you have had close contact with a person who was obliged to be in self-isolation, we unfortunately cannot accept you for treatment. In order to change your appointment, please contact us on +32 472 217 200.
- Please attend your appointment punctually to avoid waiting in the waiting room unnecessarily. We are extending appointment times to allow for any treatment over-runs and to control any possibility of increased cross-infection between patients.
- Please wear a mask to cover your mouth and nose.
- Please try and attend alone if possible. Parents or accompanying persons may always accompany their young children, they may accompany their older children during the first and second consultation, or when explanations are needed.
- We will ask you to wash/disinfect your hands as well as pre-rinse with a disinfecting oral rinse for 30 secs before the start of the treatment.
- Access to toilets will be prohibited for sanitary reasons. We would ask that teeth are brushed thoroughly at home before the appointment.
Orthodontist
Dr. Kristin van de Voorde-Heidbuchel is a recognized specialist in orthodontics with more than 20 years of experience at home and abroad regarding orthodontic treatment for children and adults.
She was affiliated with the orthodontic department of the KULeuven as an instructor for orthodontic training and for the treatment of children with cleft lip and palate (multidisciplinary team).
She obtained in this subject a PhD in Medical Science from the KUNijmegen (The Netherlands).
Furthermore, she accompanied her husband abroad where she worked as an orthodontist at the Dental Clinic Steglitz (Berlin). She also worked in various practices in Belgium and The Netherlands (including Mechelen, Dilbeek, Roermond, …) and even 4 years from Vienna and 2 years from Berlin as a 'flying orthodontist'.
She is currently working along with her colleague and sister in Heverlee (Orthodontie Heidbuchel).
She is a member of the Belgian professional association for Orthodontics (BBNO) as well as of the American Orthodontic Society (AOS).
From 2021 on she is happy to offer her expertise in her own practice in Overijse (Jezus-Eik).
Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatments are possible for patients of all ages if their teeth are well maintained and healthy. The orthodontist strives for a beautiful smile and stable, well-functioning teeth in a harmonious face, taking into account the individual needs of each patient. Dental development is followed and, if necessary, controlled. The tooth position and jaw proportions are improved using fixed or removable appliances.
